Eh, people do realize there are two other words before "carbonara", that are chicken and mushroom. So you can kinda guess that it's not an original Italian recipe, and since the cook is from UK it's English version of that recipe? I hear your pain over keeping the traditions and stuff, but this cook does not claim that it's the super original Italian recipe, it's just something she likes. I see no problem with that.
