Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance 2010 features several of the greatest Bonneville Salt Flats racers of all time: the legendary belly tank racers made just after WWII from military surplus wing fuel tanks, with Alex Xydias of So-Cal Speed Shop; the Beast, maybe the first high speed vehicle designed with the aid of wind tunnel testing, in 1952; the Eddie Miller Lakester, entirely hand built by one man in his early twenties, and recipient of the 1952 "The Marymount Best Engineered Award." American engineering at its finest.
Great to see Beast iii on the lawn at Pebble Beach. Probably one of the most outrageous and stunning cars to ever glide across the green. Given the cars that have been there, that is good company.
