@gwynn1975 Be sure to use a lanyard when using tools to break through the ice. Ive lost ice breakers when fishing from having them slip out of my hands. If you leave the heads on the fish you will know when they are done cuz the eyes will turn white. Great vid man, I love the survival tip up.

Did you use some sort of firestarter like the blast match or cheat and use a lighter?

What would have been funny is when you got the first fish out and if it got off the line and went back in the hole lol.
but how would you make a hole if you were in a survival situation it would take a long time and a fair amount of energy depending how thick the ice is

@muskyslayer22 Very true, but I would find a rock or something to break through.. The reward would be worth it in my opinion

When u set ur line in the ice, do you hang your bait 2 feet from the bottom, or do you have a different method? Whatever it is, it works good haha... Nice vid...

@shawneegeek I run a 12-18 inch leader with floating power bait and rest the weight on the bottom.. So pretty close to what you were asking. Thanks for watching

Great video Trevor. Glad too see you catch a fish on that setup. Looks like it worked awesome. Nice that your parents shared that trip with you. Merry Christmas to you and your family. Take care.
