  • That would be a facetious word, sir.

Regardless of the technical aspect, the ultimate aim of the police is to protect the state and punish [other] criminals. Police do not proactively stop or seek out criminals without mandate, ineffectual patrolling notwithstanding. They cannot. In the way of deterrence, the justice system as poor, and that applies to rehabilitation as well.

And no, I have never received help for the state beyond the coerced "help" such as schooling.

  • Did I say anything about tax or punishment? The cops are there to stop violence but they have no role in punishment (done by a DA or the CPS), its determination (judges) or implementation (the prison system)

If you are lucky enough to have never needed any help from the state that makes you woefully ill informed to comment on its effectiveness.

BTW to compound words you need the Greek root, statheists, using your terms for sta would literally mean does not believe in the state-god

  • No. They "punish" criminals, and I reject punishment as such as constituting justice. It's akin to a thief punishing other thieves for breaking into territory that the former has marked and forbidden the latter. Taxation is extortion, whether you would like to admit it or not.

And you make it seem as though libertarians are some scourge. I suppose we are a scourge to silly statheists (that's statists who defend their beloved institution [the state] with theistic fervour).

  • Oh god, another liberterian.

Police activity reports (external as well as self published) will always show that they spend most of thier time preventing citizens from harming one another, not the state

  • And police aren't obligated to protect individuals. Their primary function is to protect the state. The cattle - err, the chattel - I mean the people - are only tax payers, and while their production is much enjoyed, for the state is nothing if not a parasite, they are only the victims of thieves, and they do not deserve to be individually or especially protected. That is, unless their check books are bulging with excess. I'll thank you to shtay out of my personal affairsh.

  • It's wrong for anyone to violently force a minority position, yet the masses are perfectly allowed to give implicit consent to government forces (a coercive monopoly, mind you) to coerce their morality and superstition on all else. LOL

Democracy is a joke, a farce. There is no government run by the proletariat - the elites control almost all governments, and especially the United States and the Commonwealth and elsewhere in Europe.

  • ever* not any

  • I'm much more concerned about one Black Swan that kills 20,000,000 people than 1,000,000 statistically predictable murders. We must arm ourselves to prevent any would be jackboots from even begging their mayhem. The temptation to over reach is inherent to the very nature of centralized power. Furthermore, guns can, when ubiquitous, prevent a wide rang of crimes from any being attempted. Fear of each other is a good thing in moderation; that's what you should take home.

  • One cannot have a functioning anarchistic society, human nature will not allow it, and saying that everyone should follow the laws that you believe are right because you have a gun is the epitome of a might makes right societal view.

  • I agree that one should not shoot someone or start a revolution because you are in the minority and not being represented (that is not a democracy, in which for better or for worse, majority rules), when people begin to resort to violence to get what they want because it is not being given to them by their government, that is when our democracy truly will fall, and anarchy will reign (because no two people fully agree on anything, and so everyone will find something to start shooting about).
