Humor story from past regarding Blind Braille

Text

This is a story about McDonald in Tucson, AZ. There is a school for the deaf and blind. The McDonald employees have service provide for deaf and blind's need. However, this employee might misunderstand which kind of services. When my friend ask for paper and pen, the lady bring him a braille board instead of paper and pen. My friends and head coach laugh so hard and it cause the employee embarrassed. She put the braille board away in seconds and grab the paper and pen. I thought it was funny. :)

  • Is it coincidence that a deaf man (assuming you are deaf) is talking about braille, which is for blind people? :)

Too bad I can't understand the story.

  • Yes, you are correct. I have add short text translate in my video's message.

  • This is discrimination! ... we wanna know the story too!

  • 1 percent of youtube videos contain captions. How can you claim me as discriminate?

  • Yeah, I know what you mean. I have a deaf/blind friend and people just don't know how to react. It's a good thing he can read lips and talk fairly well:) Learning Braille and ASL is a good thing. You never know when you'll need it.

  • I am learning both Braille (by touch) and ASL, and that gets people REALLY confused when they find out that I am learning both at the same time. You should see the reactions on people's faces...well, I mean metaphorically of course.

  • Thanks for the translation:) I'm blind and I was wondering why I couldn't hear anything. The story is funny. People really do get blind people and deaf people confused.

  • This story is funny, but does not surprise me. It is amazing how many people make these types of mistakes. I am a teacher of students with visual impairments. When I tell people what I do for a living, I am commonly asked, "so do you know sign language, then?" I explain that most of my students do not use sign language, but that I do teach many of them braille. :)

  • He wrote a synopsis, what more do you want? If you want to understand, learn ASL! Do you go to German-speaking sites and tell them to include English captions?! It's just as arrogant here!

  • Hilarious. Thank for your sharing experience.
