How to Incease Paradiddle Speed

This is an exercise that I've been practicing recently. Do this for a couple of minutes each day and you will absolutely see an improvement in your speed with those all-important paradiddles. I didn't use a click in this video but I strongly suggest doing this exercise with a metronome.

@drag0nfis7 Trying using them (& the variations) as a basis for a beat. An example for the single paradiddle would be ( '^'denotes the snare stroke//accent in 4/4; '*' kick drum):

1+2+3+4 1+2+3+4+

R* L R R L^ R L L

Throw in some 16th's, held together by some groove, & it works quite well. Check out Steve Gadd in this: watch?v=wl4DKmbfDyk & anything by Jojo Mayer (both use a lot of paradiddle variations imo). Have fun :)

I'm gonna try this exercise. I'm quite not too fast in my hands, but I'll do fine.

What purpose does the paradiddle fulfill anyway? I just play them for fun in some random fills, but other than to make it a bit more fun, I see no practical use in them
