Not a bad yield for those buckets. Our potatoes tend to go sprawling all over the backyard competing with our other vegetables and more than a few came out pretty deformed...maybe I'll try buckets next year now that I see it can produce. Did you toss in any earthworms into the buckets or plastic sacs? Stratify the bucket soil (clay/silt bottom, sandy top)?

@MaxSachs yeah ..the buckets were quite good... no I didnt put any earthworms into the buckets. I filled the bucket quarter fill with compost, covering the potatoe seed ...and then just kept covering the new growth every 5 days with compost untill the bucket was full. I did apply a sprinkling of potatoe fertiliser a couple of times during this process though...:))) good luck with yours.

I have seen a number of people plant in the buckets but so far, your has had the best results, do you remember what variety of potato you planted?
Luv your vids.

@59Gretsch the potatoe is a variety called ' agria' that we have here in New Zealand. Its a yellow potatoe ... VERY nice roasting and chips....:)) Thanks ...glad you enjoy the vids.

I wonder if burlap sacks would work better than plastic???? Happy Harvest!!!!

@HisTrueImage hmmmm I dunno ..I think a burlap sack may let a bit of light in which is a no no for potatoes.....
