John Garand was born Canadian but was raised in America and was a naturalized citizen way before he designed the M1. Also, the pinging thing was not a real disadvantage in a firefight.

The m1 does make a ping because i have one, but the ping comes so fast after the shot its hard to hear.

@iiisoposol2020 it is better actually, for speed in shooting, and reloading with 1 clip, instead of 2, also because of automatic clip ejection, bolt opening and magazine clearing.

@Litterboxer529 actually the MP43 (its the STG/MP44 with a diffrent name)
entered service in Octobor 43
i have a book about the STG44 but it was OFFICALLY issued in june 44
(hitler wasnt happy to know it was issued without his permission)

@alekzander2010 The STG44 entered service in late 1944 or early 1945. Stalingrad was from from 1941 to 1943. And no, the Russians had many weapons, like the PpSh 41, which was one of the most mass-produced submachine guns of all time.

Boy, they should REALLY have made it clear that John Garand was an American weapons engineer who was born in Canada and moved the the US as a young child and went to school and became a firearms developer and inventor...that way all these misinformed kids wouldnt assume the M1 was made by the Canadians or it was somehow a Canadian rifle.

@LoneWolf051 Yep you must have standards alright you only smoke more expencive dope and you play the best of Russian war video games that teach you everything you ever learned about firearms .
You can always tell the biggest jackass on you tube videos if they have Russian war video games on their Channel information .
