Part Four:
Recovery 'n Rehab, Anecdotes and Metaphors

This video, You Look Great! Inside a Traumatic Brain Injury, tells the story of trying to recover from an injury that in some ways is invisible to the outside world. My hope is that fellow sufferers find comfort that they are not alone in their injury, and that they learn ways of describing what theyre going through to their families, friends, and caregivers.

  • This whole series is wonderful. :-)

    A TBI survivor.

  • Thanks! My son Chris did a great job. We hope to finish up parts 5 and 6 in November.

    All the best,

    John

  • John Byler,

I am a part of the Framingham group. The 4 videos have been very insightful, comforting and thoughtful. My journey started on 10/16/06. I see Rick ! I would love to just talk with you. Let me know thought Barbara. Good health, be safe, Craig G

  • Hi Craig, thanks for your note. I hope to be with the group on Tuesday.

    All the best . . .

  • So, I'm ALONE. What will it take for YOU to take My Advice? Millions of others FOLLOWING ME? Or an another CRASH?

Do YOU know what "I told you so" means? I don't think ANYONE knows what I mean. That's sad, John.

  • Hi there, your videos are interesting and I'm glad someone is encouraging the not-altogether-accepted use of helmets in cars. I don't wear one but you've given me lots to think about.

  • thank you, thank you, thank you for putting a face on what so many of us have suffered from....

  • Yep that would be great if he'd go. I've researched all kinds of programs for him but he just won't help himself.

  • Oh I see. I didn't connect your note here with the one above. Maybe there's a local support group for TBI in your area? Sharing strategies is very helpful, and also makes you feel less alone.

  • I'm talking about my son-in-law. He's the one who had the brain injury two years ago. I'm trying to find some help for him

  • I don't understand your comment.

Who doesn't care? And who sits and mopes?

And who thinks there's no hope?

  • Yes but here's the problem. He doesn't care. I'm the one who's looking for a solution. I care. He just sits and mopes. He also needs anger management in some way. He also thinks ther is no hope for him. I'm looking forward to the next one.
