@pocfb I agree ...this guy is really good ...he uses the flute very well ...and shows how to use the keys and tone colourings / staccato etc. Interestingly sme of the older ITM players used some staccato , but nothing like this guy.
Maybe not Irish trad but definetely Scottish traditional. The tune was composed back in the 17th century and the Scottish violinist/fiddler Scott Skinner arranged 5 variations for it in the 19th century. So that makes it pretty traditional.

Well, the title means "Blue‑Green Hill" in Gaelic but it is a broken-finger tune indeed.

First time I have heard this played on flute! I heard once that the title of this song translates as, "broken fingers"! LOL!

Best wooden Flautist on the planet and i include any ITM players, they don't have the ornamentation or technique this guy has.
