@Atetrakz Techno or electronic with 4x4 kick drums was happening from the early 70s onwards. you can thank kraftwerk and their song kristalo and kometen melodie 2. You can also thank the human league, the screamers, etc etc. Detroit was late to the game and no one(most people) even remembers any detroit songs. But everyone knows depeche mode, new order and the european acts. So detroit is irrelevant.

@dabimaniac Other way around. House was being made in chicago after the death of disco. Techno was being made in detroit around the same time. Both of the genres influenced the acid scene and newbeat scene
