Aspire one - bad fan

After a month or so of owning the aspire one, it developed a noisy fan. Ill have to send it in for repair.


UPDATE:It appears that my laptop will no longer boot. I like the little bugger but wished it lasted longer. 6/19/2010

ok, my aa1 gets to 70º, i've set the aa1fancontrol to turn on the fan on 50º, but it barely does anything, the fan almost dont make any sound, like if it were working at 20% of speed, isnt there any software that will let me use it at full speed?, its really frustrating that it gets super hot in barely 10 minutes

if you cant hear it, its likely broken! Can you feel any air coming out the left side?

I installed the AA1 Fan control program and this really solved the problem.. I mean sure the fan bearing still has a problem, but it doesn't need to come on right on startup. The program turns the fan on once the cpu reaches a certain temperature and shuts it off once it cools back down, saving some battery life.

But I already have programs and stuff installed on this one, I'm going to attempt to have it repaired.

yeah, the fan is deffinetly defective.

I have the aspire One and you can barely hear it at all...

i have the new one of 2010 the fan stopped working after 6 months

mine is the super slim verison they don't make it anymore because of the fact there are no vent ports lol i need a new fucking netbook asap

my netbook fan only has one goodish baddish problem ever sense i got the computer, well fan turns on and works fine except that when it does turn on i get a smell on strawberries i liked it at first and thought that i got a lucky computer but now the smell is annoying because now when i use me computer i get really hungry, does anyone know how to stop the smell

set it to passive cooling so your CPU slows before the fan comes on.
