Reduce Junk Food

If you really want to know how to lose belly fat the answer is simple; greatly reduce the amount of junk food you eat. This means cutting down on sugary foods like cookies, cupcakes, candy and brownies as well as sugary beverages like soda and juice. These foods provide you with mostly things you don't need like fat, sugar and cholesterol and nearly none of the things you need like fiber, protein and carbohydrates.

It's not just sweet junk food either; it's also chips and processed food and fast food. These are all filled with fat, grease, sugar and sodium; a bad combination for anyone whose goal is to lose lower belly fat. You don't have to eliminate these foods from your diet altogether but you should have them no more than 2 or 3 times each month just to help you maintain a healthy diet.

Lower Belly Exercises

Although lower belly exercises alone won't help you to lose lower belly fat, they will help you tone those muscles as part of a full body workout routine. When combined with regular cardio to burn fat, lower belly exercises will tighten those muscles so you have a sculpted lower belly.

Some lower belly exercises that you can do to lose lower belly fat include;

Abdominal Holds: Sit on a chair with your hands tightly gripping the edges and contract your muscles while you list your feet at least 5 inches from the ground. Hold for approximately 5 seconds and repeat.
Reverse Crunch Ups: Start lying flat on the floor with your hands at your sides. Lift your legs in the air with your knees bent, and the bottom of your feet facing the wall. Raise your butt off the ground by contracting lower abdominal muscles and return to starting position.
Leg Raises: This exercise are perfect for those of you with access to a gym. Find a Roman chair and inhale as you lift your knees up toward your chest. Contract your lower abdominal muscles and hold for 2 seconds before returning to starting position.
