@Kainnmaul in an interview Angelstad said that it was an honor to fight Probie and that he was very very happy that he could do that
-
probert started landing those uppercuts and mel couldnt get out of the rest of the punches.probert was past his peak here and uses his experience.
-
@gangster4021 You think this was a win for Anglestad? LOL. WOW.
-
my fuckin ass probert wins he beat his ass bad

@extrafrenulum 1999 IIRC. I actually worked with his mom at the time. It might have been pre-season, so doesn't show up at nhl.com et al. Mel basically begged Bob to go, he said come on, I've got one chance. Bob had of course nothing to prove, but gave Mel from Hell his shot. He did pretty good.

@reflectiveintrospect Agreed. So many people dis Probie for losing against fighter X or Y, but most of his "loses" were when the refs jumped in early. If they let it go to the later rounds, he usually came on and ended up blasting the guy.

When did this happen? at hockeydb.com, it never says that Mel played for Dallas.

Sad day for hockey...RIP Bob, toughest the NHL has ever seen.
Id bet money that if you asked mel what the best moment of his career was, he would say getting to fight bob probert.

As usual, Probie gets the job done in the later rounds.
