Updating what's happening with my Breast Cancer treatment, chemotherapy or not, as of February 29 2008 and the role that prognosis and pre-existing conditions like fibromyalgia play in my decision making.
I just had a bi-lateral mastectomy on the 13th. earlier i was talking to my mom who is 63(the best mom on the planet) i had started warming up the food she had prepared for me yesterday, thinking of how much i appriciate her and all the rest of my family for helping me out during this time, life is too short she says, no matter the problem we are family, that's what we do. i can't tell you i love you and when you need me i can't be found. it's just that bread you cast upon the water familyloves
I didn't know I had a choice about Chemo. Since I was already in NHL Stage iv b I had to start a very aggressive treatment regimen. The heavy chemo really made me sick and made me unable to make red or white blood cells. Recently, my wife and I had a scare. She had a lumpectomy that turned out to be benign, but, whew! I am now terminal but I really don't even think about it. I refuse to let the cancer ruin my remaining days. I am so sick and so weak but I keep on going. Thanks to God!
i know its about a month after postingbut no replies? that suprised me.
my mum has breast cancer and the motivation she had to do it was that she has children that relied on her.
as for the question it comes down to the affect on your life. pre chemo and op's my mum was depressed and didnt get out much and since she has found a new lease in life.
everyone is scared of death but do you need more time in your life? after chemo/cancer can your life get better? if not do you need more time?
Hey sweetie how are you making out?

I don't like Chemo, I would opt for some natural cures instead. I'm not saying natural medicine can cure everything but chemo is so hard on the body.
Her cancer may be cured but the chemo weakens the body's natural immune system.
