@fecalophagus Yeah as far as I know, the ps2 is fully BC.
The WII seems like the GC with new controls. I pretty much play RE4 on it and that's it, if I ever find a wireless GC controller, I won't even bother with the motion controls on it. I do prefer the controller waggling over the button mashing QTE though. Doesn't ruin the controller.

@videosfromderelix - Okay, cool. PS2 would have just about full BC except for regional code issues. Yeah, the Wii doesn't seem to be that much superior to the GC though.

@videosfromderelix - Supposedly they stopped putting the chip in to "cut cost", even though it took forever for the price to drop to a reasonable range. Yeah, that really sucks. I hope they re-release a version with the chip for a decent price before the PS4 comes out. What do you mean the Wii has full BC? I know it plays GameCube discs, but the one before that was the 64, yeah old games are downloadable, but that's true for the PS3 too, maybe not as many available though.

I fucking hate these game companies, they will take away a feature like that for no real reason other than the fact that people still buy PS2 and they want to keep that market open too. Even the WII has full BC, and it's the cheapest current gen console.

@videosfromderelix - Cool, yeah I found out recently that only the first generation PS3 had a chip in it that worked with the system software, a free DLC on the PS store. Without that chip it doesn't matter if you download the system software, it still won't play PS2 games. Mine plays PS1 games.

@fecalophagus I use to have an 80 gig PS3 and it did play most ps2 games. It played all ps1 games as far as I know.
I wish I still had it, I hear they don't support BC anymore.
