Savin' Me (Jayne/River)

Ok, so here is the story (AU): In the beginning River and Jayne have an arguement. She is going to help them on their job on Ariel, but Jayne doesn't like it. However, River does it anyway and they end up getting caught. Jayne sacrifices himself in order for River and Simon to escape. They are saved by Mal and on the ship the crew has a moment of silence for Jayne. However, River feels it is her fault that Jayne is gone.

As the days go on, River keeps seeing Jayne around the ship. Mal, Simon, and the others try to tell her that Jayne is gone and River gets more upset. Meanwhile, the Alliance is closing in on them.

During a job on a planet, River has a moment of happiness as she thinks of Jayne during their better days. Then she sees the Alliance coming, but it's too late. River is captured by the Alliance and subjected to further testing.

Meanwhile, as the others get set to rescue River they run into none other than Jayne! He asks how River is and Mal tells him the bad news that she was kidnapped by the Alliance. Jayne becomes very angry at this and they devise a plan.

River tries to escape and is caught by a guard, but Jayne and the others aren't far behind. The guard holds River at gunpoint, but Jayne won't give up. Eventually he kills the guard, but River is hurt in the process. Jayne immediately runs to her side and they bring her back to Serenity. Jayne watches over her as she slowly recovers.

In the end, River wakes up and leaves her room. And there waiting for her is Jayne!

Whoa, alright then. The clips don't match up to the song that well, but I wanted to do this song for them and it's more of a story than a fanvid anyway. So, please keep in mind when watching this that when Jayne and the others are rescuing River from the Alliance they ARE NOT on Serenity; as hard as it is to picture that. And it's obvious that the black and white clips are the visions. Enough rambling, now...Enjoy!
