We spent day 11 touring all over the city on one of those hop-on/hop-off buses. This turned out to be the best 20 euros that we spent in Berlin. The bus affords incredible views of a city that can be characterized by its momentum. There is some form of construction just about everywhere we went. Unlike other European capitals where one is overwhelmed by 18th and 19th century architecture, Berlin looks forward and presents itself as a stage for architects around the world. The bus tour took us through all the important sites: Checkpoint Charlie, Potsdamer Platz, The Reichstag, Alexander Platz, The Victory Angel, and the Wall. We got off the bus at KaDeWe, the largest department store either of us has ever been in. KaDeWe is famous for it's 5th floor food market and 6th floor cafeteria. Yum! We ended the evening taking the U-bahn to Kreutzberg to meet up with a friend of a friend for dinner and local flavor.
