Abantu Mu Buntu toured New York City, Fairfield, and Westchester counties from October 27-November 14, 2008.

Abantu Mu Buntus colorful costumes, beautiful voices and vibrant dancing transported audiences to their traditional homelands of Uganda, a land rich in culture and spirit. Audiences did not only enjoy watching these amazing young performers, but also had the opportunity to sing and dance with them.

The company is led by master choreographer and teacher Frank Katoola. The founder of the Tender Talents Theatre Company - an umbrella organization for childrens theater work in Uganda, Frank has led childrens theatre and music tours throughout Uganda and other parts of the world, including Germany and the United States. This was the groups third tour with Creative Connections. In addition, his groups have participated in the East Africas Winners Festival and Ligen, Germanys International Theatre Festival of Children.

  • This is an amazing fusion of multiple Ugandan Cultures; the lyrics in Lugbara from Arua, the backcloth, drums tradition of Buganda, the ntogoro from Lunyakitara, the xylophone from Busoga and Eastern Uganda - all blended in a spiritual setting. Fantastic repertoire, beautiful.
