This is only MY opinion. It was so hard making this list, seeing as there are many gorgeous actors from that period in Hollywood, it has been changing for weeks.

Anyway here is the final product. The best-looking actors pre-1960, yes unfortunately that means I had to exclude Steve McQueen, Clint Eastwood and Warren Beatty for they were not big stars until the 60's.

Hope you enjoy! The music is the End Titles from The Shawshank Redemption, composed by the great Thomas Newman.

  • @Zombie00Goddess Oh yes sister, me too. I would put John Garfield # 1 on my list as well. I don't like the "pretty boy" look myself. I prefer a man to look like a man, kind of rough and tough around the edges, but still handsome. That was Garfield, and he had real sex appeal. It is said that after Four Daughters was released in 1938 the women just "threw themselves" at him. From what I have read about him, he didn't resist their advances either. An amazing actor & a hot guy too.

  • there were some sexy actors out there it's a shame most of them aren't alive anymore

  • great , but I would put Paul Newman at the top of my personal list

  • Ouch, no Franchot Tone! He had his pick of Joan Crawford and Bette Davis and he chose Crawford. Many of his films are hard to get a hold of now but he was gorgeous! You have a great vid here with fantastic music, I'd like to see you extend it to 25 and add a few other deserving men like Warren Beaty and Peter O'Toole as mentioned. And am I crazy or does Fred Astaire belong here too? :)

  • John Garfield would be #1 on my own list.

  • great vid but where is martin and lewis

  • I like your choices, just not in that order and you should have done the top fifty. Love this. Good job!

  • Paul Newman & THOSE eyes...**swoon!**

  • i'm disappointed. dean martin ♥

  • actors these days just don't compare... the class of the golden age hOllywood times was truly.. incomparable
