Fortepiano: Ronald Brautigam
Beethoven Piano Sonata No. 15 "Pastoral": 4. Rondo: Allegro ma non troppo
Another luminous Beethoven sonata performance by dutch pianist Ronald Brautigam a wonderful sounding fortepiano made by Paul McNulty in 2001 after an 1802 Walter & Sohn model. Yet again an ear-opener!
(The pic of Beethoven dates from the year of the piece's composition, 1801)
what a unique, playful, bass line he has here. anyone know the inspiration?

Thank you Beethoven for what you did... LUDWIG VAN BEETHOVEN (1770-1827)

My video response is nothing compared to this brilliant performance, I just thought I'd have a crack at it myself :)

The clarity of this is gorgeous... one of my favorite slow movements ever!

14,000 views to 3,020...what a tragedy. This is pure ecstasy; thank you, Mr. Brautigam! I am predicting 2,800 views for mvmt 3 and that is because 220 people had to go to sleep.
