depends what kind of explosion you want. i wanted a more suttle rising flame so i used Shellite fuel. if you want something really nasty, i think you should mix fuels (e.g. diesel with shellite, or butanol with diesel).. oh btw, diesel is nasty...
how much in a bottle? well a bottle is approx 360mls, so i'd say load up no more than 200mls... 200mls can get you a pretty huge flame depending on the fuel.

yup, but it's gotta be really thin or else it won't blow up. beer bottles aren't good, they only smash if you throw really hard and in doing that, the liquid and the flame might come into contact in your hands and blow your arm to bits.
