Isobel Baillie & Harold Williams sing Mendelssohn's "What have I to do with thee?" from Elijah accompanied by Liverpool Philharmonic conducted by Sir Malcolm Sargent Recorded in 1947
These two made two recordings of Elijah, one in the 1920s, & this one just after the war. Marvelous voices, true English oratorio style. They sing with conviction, and their enunciation of English is something you will not hear today. Let's hear it for Malcolm Sargent, too. He knew how to conduct a choir.
