I made this purely for (personal) learning purposes. The result is hardly impressive, but it's pretty cool that's it's possible to do with free tools. The shot was quite difficult to work with: In order to remove the sky, I used chroma keying. Unfortunately, that particular color range (sky color) was present throughout the entire shot, which resulted in a bad matte. In order to counter that, I had to create a mask which covered pretty much everything (except the sky of course). It solved most of the problem, but the loss of detail was unavoidable. A smoke effect and a sky texture were also added.
Overall, it's a bit sloppy. But considering the shot, it turned out "OK".
Applications used: Blender, Icarus

why is this so dark? and why did you need to use icarus? there wasn't any camera movement.
