  • I dont understand what the foil is for. Wouldnt this just block the flow of air from beneath the charcoal? Sure it probably reflects heat back, but ... well I'm confused. Someone tell me what the diff would be if I use it vs not using it.

  • @svtcontour - Mainly, the foil lining makes cleaning out the old used charcoal easier for me. It makes little difference in how good or fast the stuff cooks. As for the airflow beneath the charcoal, I put the briquettes on some sort of grate to keep them off the bottom and prop the lid open slightly, which works quite well for me.

  • I'm no grilling expert, but I do know there are many different methods of grilling. This "Poor Man's" way is something I had learned from years of trial and error (and being cheap).

    BTW - About the presoaked charcoal thing, again, it is so important that you let it all burn completely away (when all coals are white, it's safe to assume as such).

  • Cut the ends of the charcole bag and then light the bag. When you clean the grill clean it when its gets real hot from the charcole it cleans so easy. Also you do not need tin foil. peas and frys thats a good side.

  • ok you are doing a few things wrong #1 dont use foil you need air flow, #2 clean the grill after it heats up with a wire brush it is easier to clean when the grill is super hot, #3 when you use that type of charcole open both ends of the bag and light the bag at both ends. #4 check out my BBQ movies they rock. #5 Subscribe to my channel. #6 if you do that i will subscribe to yours.
