Rick Perry is charging Texas taxpayers $9,000 a month to live in a rental mansion. While living in this mansion, Perry compared himself to hurricane evacuees who lost their homes. While Texas families tighten their belts, why should we pay for Perry's extravagant rental mansion?

It's absolutely ridiculous for Governor Perry to waste our tax dollars like this! There are plenty of nice homes, even in Westlake, that are less than 2000$ a month and still quite lavish. Hell, there are nice houses in Cedar Park, Tarrytown, Round Rock, east and south Austin for even less!
No more $9000/month mansion while so many Texans only wish they could afford $900/month mortgage or rent!

It's a nice gig if you can get it- if this were Obama, folks would be screaming. But for our governor, we pay our hard earned money, plus for extra staff and security (still have the security at the Mansion), and travel back and forth when he decides to go to his state office.
