It's a shame the VB failed when it did because there was a line up of good looking games coming. IGN has reported that Nintendo has announced a 2D Mario game for the 3DS so we could see this game live on in some form.

Super Mario 3D Land is not a remake of Mario Land and not a sequel to the Super Mario Land series for the Gameboy.
