Tucker singing Guy d'Hardelot's 'Parce que' (Because) from a concert in 1954.
No location was given on the CD so I'm not sure where this was.
Caruso made the first successful recording of this piece in the original French (1912). Since then many popular and classical singers have done fantastic covers of this wonderful song.
@halavey Probably since it was 1954, could be Arturo Toscanini and the NBC SYMPHONY on both NBC RADIO NETWORK and NBC TELEVISION NETWORK which in thos days was called a simulcast. ROGHARM age 66 heard the broadcasts.

Thank you poster for your e-mail. i never hear richard tucker singing in english. he sounds great!!!! rated highest 11+ ROGHARM if it 1954 it probably is the NBC SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA conducted in the symphony's last year by Arturo Toscannini. that is only my opinion. the applause means it was an NBC RADIO/TELEVISION simulcast. age 66 used to hear broadcasts on NBC RADIO while having dinner 6:30-7:39 pm Saturdays. i am a radio tv historian also a shortwave listener since 1954.

Well Ed your catalog is great and I have ordered from it several times but I'd prefer if my order was sent out a little sooner than 3 or 4 weeks and sometimes even a year or track info would be nice! By the way, I ordered a few months back the Pavarotti/Albanese concert in San Francisco and the second disc contained instead of the rest of a concert, some disc 2 of an old "Aida" recording! After emailing someone right away I was promised a new copy but I've yet to receive anything.

Nope, it's not my release, but thanks for the ringing endorsement. We can only supply info that we are supplied with, and often it is not very much. Re this performance, it is new to me, and in great sound. A great find.
