@zachgilm : Hehehehe, actually, Savatage became a split-personality between old-school metal and progressive rock, until it finally literally split into two separate entities ; the TSO for all that nifty prog-rock/rock-opera stuff, and JOP (Jon Oliva's Pain), which is basically the heavy metal origins of Savatage reborn. Although even JOP still has some progressive elements with the piano/vocal arrangements.

@zachgilm Nah, TSO is what made them popular, they do a really good job of integrating the Savatage stuff into the TSO music.

@Gilbertage2007 Of course I do. I also remember that the band put out another 4 studio recordings, 2 live albums (albeit 1 recorded before Criss died) and continued playing gigs until 2002. Criss is one of my favourite guitarists, but Dead Winter Dead is a phenomenal record. I would kill to see any incarnation of the band live.

"New York City don't mean nothing" it's just a good place when your runnin', lights they cut so brite, make you bleed! neon children live their lives there, mad magicians tinsle nightmares, still ya know I'm never gonna leave! SAVATAGE WILL LIVE FOREVER!
