Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal thinks Intelligent Design should be taught with evolution in public schools.
Jindal: "As a parent, when my kids go to schools, when they go to public schools, I want them to be presented with the best thinking. I want them to be able to make decisions for themselves. I want them to see the best data. I personally think that the life, human life and the world we live in wasn't created accidentally. I do think that there's a creator. I'm a Christian. I do think that God played a role in creating not only earth, but mankind. Now, the way that he did it, I'd certainly want my kids to be exposed to the very best science. I don't want them to be--I don't want any facts or theories or explanations to be withheld from them because of political correctness. The way we're going to have smart, intelligent kids is exposing them to the very best science and let them not only decide, but also let them contribute to that body of knowledge."
My question: Should students decide whether or not the theory of gravity is fact?

@iEatSwissCheese That is one of the stupidest arguments i have ever seen. There is no evidence to support creationism, NONE. It's like teaching Harry Potter History as an alternative to actual History, just so kids could have the option of having their own opinions. If you give kids the option to choose creationism, their idiot parents will obviously take advantage and make them learn it, most likely leading them to a life of blindness and ignorance.

As a biology major he should have known that evolution isn't a random process.

Sure. We'll present them the facts and let them decide for themselves.
Pile 1: evolution, the natural force of the origin of life includes evidence: historical, genetic, geological, fossil, physical homologies, embryological, micro-evolution.
Pile 2: Intelligent design: The bible.

@iEatSwissCheese Sure, show the kids that there is no data or evidence what-so-ever to support a bronze age myth called Creationism. One should also teach the many other creation myth stories alongside Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Astronomy, etc. One can't help but respond with "don't be such a retard!"

I totally agree with Jindal because kids are the ones that should decide what they believe, not the government. If the government doesn't let creationism be taught in school then our kids are all going to believe the same thing without even knowing there are other options and beliefs.

What "data" supports creationism? What would be taught that doesn't involve religion?

@aapch1 He doesnt give a shit about advancement in humanity. Kids are going to be like god did it all looks like we might wells stop exploring the world of science and we can just go to god for our answers. It just sets us back on everything. Haha his for everything the founding fathers were against and didnt want in the first place and what they were trying to get from there goverments forced-on views.

@nextgenvids exactly.. his pervase mind is going to spoil the identities of our youth.. and make pseudo-hitlers.. i dont understand why everyone cant just lay back and say "i dont know, i dont care, lets go help somebody" people like jindal are going to destroy basic morality, and bring jesus and other non-sensical figures into play within our school systems, so instead of learning something useful, we would be learning about how a 30 year old hippy, who was the son of god made wine!
