Describes proper safety and the procedure to remove and reinstall hub piloted disc dual tires and wheels. Students produced this video as an assessment assignment.
Also when dealing with stud piloted wheels make sure the pilot holes aren't damaged/flattened. It's a good idea to lubricate both stud piloted and hub piloted threads with 30w oil NEVER antiseize. (I just use 15W-40) Do not wet torque (lube) dayton demountable studs. Star pattern should only be needed for tightening, and with stud pilot tighten and torque the inner then outside cap nuts. Of course clean mounting surfaces are good mounting surfaces.
I don't know if steel toes are osha regulation, but I do know osha isn't phychic and steel toes don't really protect. (To clarify I wear steel toes and still get hit on the top of arch of the foot) I find a simple tire iron and foot to be faster than any kind of wheel dolly so I only use them for super singles. Jacking by the pumpkin is ok but risky (damage results if not placed right) The side the wheel is on is the direction of the threads in stud pilot (left side left handed threads)
