One Of Five In A Mini-Review Of The Five Aircraft Added In The "US Eagles" DLC Pack For HAWX. This Was Filmed Using The In-Built Flight Recorder ;) In The Game.
Real Background - The Lockheed SR-71 was an advanced, long-range, Mach 3 strategic reconnaissance aircraft developed from the Lockheed A-12 and YF-12A aircraft by the Lockheed Skunk Works as a Black project. The SR-71 was unofficially named the Blackbird, and called the Habu by its crews, referring to an Okinawan species of pit viper.[1] Clarence "Kelly" Johnson was responsible for many of the design's innovative concepts. A defensive feature of the aircraft was its high speed and operating altitude, whereby, if a surface-to-air missile launch were detected, standard evasive action was simply to accelerate. The SR-71 line was in service from 1964 to 1998, with 12 of the 32 aircraft being destroyed in accidents, though none were lost to enemy action.
In-game - As I stressed in the other reviews, this is simply a re-made version of an existing HAWX plane. The YF-12, which is unlocked at level 17, is a prototype version of the SR-71, and carries almost exactly the same weapons loadouts, perks and flight characteristics - chief amongst them being speed. Although strangely effective in a turning fight, as I found out duting Operation: Torchlight, the SR-71's main flight characteristic is it's blistering speed. On full throttle in level flight the SR-71 will hit 2500 kilometers per hour, and more in a dive. If you're trying for thr Afterburner Trophy/Achievement, then this is the plane to do it in, as there is hardly anything else in the hangar that comes close to the speed the SR-71 can achieve. That, coupled to its decent manouverability and good weapon loadout means it should not be overlooked. It's main problems lie in stalling - it is very easy to stall in OFF mode and slow to recover - and it's multi-weapon loadout issues - although the SR-71 can choose from Multi-Target AAMs and AGMs, it only gets to choose one plus the standard JS missiles and guns load.
Pros: Fast, Manouverable, Decent Loadout Choice
Cons: Easy To Stall, Slow To Recover, Limited Weapons & Ammunition
The SR-71 Is "Added" To The Game By Purchasing The "US Eagles" DLC Pack From The PS Store (Xbox Live Marketplace If You're On Xbox). Once That Is Done, You Then Must Reach A Certain Level To Unlock It For Use In Campaign Mode.
HAWX and all it's content are copyrighted to Ubisoft. I don't own the game, or the rights to the game, and nor do I claim to.
Dear lord this game is damn unrealistic!

Yes, but considering the fact that Ace Combat jumped ship to 360, it;s the only decent modern air combat game you can buy for the PS3 ;)

wats the difference in the game between the SR-71 & YF-12A or wateva the other 1 is called?

In the game? Very little. Weapons loadout is the only difference
In reality, the YF-12 was designed as a Mach 3 interceptor, whereas the SR-71 was designed to be a recon plane.
