rrod is easyer to fix your self , i got a rrod xbox off ebay for like 36 bucks cost me only 12 15 dollars to fix it i has been running for 2 years not a problem my brother had ps3 old he and my other brother clean it out replaced thermal paste and it was dead they got a slim because with the ps2 cpu adds heat plus new warranty only problem i have now is a dvdrom and i have a new one coming in the mail

If you have a 360 and you have the unlikely event of a RROD, you can easily get a new 360 from microsoft.
If you have a PS3 and you have the unlikely but more likely than RROD YLOD, you cannot contact sony about it because they don't do anything about it.

Microsoft have issued so many updates that the models from 2010 onwards show it's almost impossible to get RROD and it hasn't been gotten on the new xbox slim.
However, PS3's YLOD is getting worse in 2010 and 2011. It has passed out the RROD in 2011 in percentages.
