  • Cant u use S sub infinity = a over 1-r ........ or in other words..... S sub inifnity = a/1-r

  • @707firedragon YES. The formula for the sum of a geometric series works just as well, if not better. Even though the formula I use here is slightly different, they both work. Using the formula you're talking about would allow you to stop as soon as you write out the 3/2(1-1/2+...), because that would give you a and r, which you could plug into your formula and solve. :)
