Blue Christmas

This was my first directing projecting at my Film School that I currently attend. For "Advanced Directing Workshop" we had to take a scene from a movie, and re-shoot it as we saw fit with actors from the class.

The movie I choose was "True Romance" which was written by the great Quinten Tarantino. We it came time to direct my short scene, I choose to set the scene at a bar on Christmas Eve, instead of were Mr. Tarantino himself set in his script.

I did alter one or two lines of dialouge, and I take no credit for that. I mearly changed a few words in order for it to fit in context with the scene.

So, looking back two years after I shot this, I do have some regrets. The sound sucks, the credit music is way to loud, and the credits are way to long.

However, for my first time directing, well, anything really, I believe I did an okay job. I did the lighting, the set decorating, and the editing myself. There are some things I like in the film itself, namely the wonderful dialouge by Mr. Tarantino, the greenlight effect I was able to create with the use of the neon sign, the way the lights reflect off of the woman's glasses, and of course, the great performance by my friend, Cole Baker.
