  • So true. I went to college and it was such a waste of time and money. I studied business and it was all about making a career and pleasing the boss.

Education is all about standarization and fitting in..

  • Education has become a big business. A pyramid-scheme in favor of Professors.

So refreshing to here Ken's prespective..... lets take the step and give our kids a new chance!

  • The only thing that bothers me although I agree with what Sir Ken says. I think it's who he's saying it too he should talk to a lot more young people and students.

  • The people I have found to be successful in my personal life have been the ones who did not spend much time in a classroom. The problem with our system compared to china, is that kids are stuck in class for too long. In China they have a k-9 system and we have a k-12. The last 2 years should then be focused on pure creativity, engineering, and hands on occupations that hold our country together. Get them working, gaining meaningful experience and learning at the same time.

  • @Foreshadow44 There is enough funding, that is fo sure. But the evil corrupted people in the system is not willing to change. They wanna see suffering. That is the type of people they've become. They've become what the chinese call "book worms"

  • How to raise their nations reading standards. Hire reading coaches for all K-5 level, and no need for degree, anyone with a 10th grade level ability can help someone with K-4 level so no need for certificates and all but for each 30 minutes you spend with a Kinder age child you save 2 hours of effort for an 8th grader who didn't get that help and falls behind. Either I am a supergenius or the people who are actually in charge do not want such outcomes. Money is not the issue.

  • Is the world full of cowards? Sir Ken Robinson is the only normal guy left?

  • @ogicabp4u Oh, BTW these are TOP universities I went to...so called highly accredited!!

Go do professional Qualifications like CCNA, CPA, RSA, MCSE, MCPIT, ITLS if you want a job. If you can do you can pass.

University is all about prestige dogma and politics not about learning, skill and science.

University was good for the time..but its had its time...its become too dogmatic now.

Just like religion ...that too will die a natural death...or the human race will.

  • University is crap idea. I got 124% and outsmarted the professor in Mathematics in the second year of my uni degree instead of recognizing my talent she seem pissed off! I got 99% credited with it since they don't know how to put 100% on their spreadsheet!!! When I transferred this credit over to a US university I got credited with 70%. And this is supposed to intelligent system of education????

  • So long as the British and US University Education system stays Dogmatic a 'Revolution' in Education will not occur. There are certain people in the Ivory Towers of Education who fear this change and want nothing to do with it! In fact, I correct myself, they WANT everything to do with it..to make sure it DOES NOT occur...it's BAD BUSINESS for most Universities and Loan Sharks who will convince you it is a good idea to go to Uni!
