@whitbyjet65 Also just as a little side note, you let a lot of your personality shine through during this conversation.
You're a white male. English or at the very least British, working class. Late high school education, probably an underachiever but you like to think of yourself as smart and you're at least average in intelligence. However very stubborn in your views and under confident in yourself. Somewhat racist as well though no more than most people.
Again you'll try to argue with me.
-
@whitbyjet65 atleast we'll pay our debts off instead of being stuck in debt forever
-
@whitbyjet65 It has been debated, it was initially thought to be somewhere in the region of £270Bn but was revealed to be £110-140Bn. I don't understand what you mean by Alex's propaganda, the report was an independent one. Look I could keep going with this conversation, but you keep repeating the same statements and throwing out Alex Salmond's name along with brief meritless arguments, I'm not sure entirely sure where you got that conscription thing from but I'm sure you'll keep arguing anyway.
-
@damianm2 AHAHAHA! You've been reading too much of Alex's propaganda, mate. By the way, I hope you look forward to conscription into the army because you'll get it (just like the Swiss etc). The share of the UK's debt Scotland will take hasn't even been debated/decided yet so that'll be a nice surprise for you. As for your military, just pray no one muscles in on that oil because you'll be virtually defenceless. But I hope Scotland do break away.
-
@whitbyjet65 Scotland is currently contributing to a debt over £1Tn. Scotland's personal debt however only amounts to £110Bn, which would be payed with < 10% of the countries assets in north sea oil and gas not to mention the fact that Scotland's debt repayments would actually be lower as a whole if they became independant.
Obviously there are risks when it comes to breaking away but evidence suggests doing so would be beneficial for Scotland as a whole, but we never know until it happens.
-
Sad and depressing;-(
-
@damianm2 Scotland will also have to take its toxic debts with it if it votes for independence (BOS) & pay back the English tax payers WITH interest.
-
@whitbyjet65 you don't seem to understand the point. Around 70-80% of Britain's oil belongs to scotland, that's not politics or propaganda it's just a fact. If Scotland breaks away then England will have to pay more for oil and want to avoid it, that's all I was saying, (of course there are other reasons.)
You're also speaking as if you expect a major conflict between Scotland and England which would never happen, it would be completely unjustifiable and a referendum isn't going to spark one.
