This is a far trickier transformation to make than most people think. It is necessary to join two Skewb cores together in such a way that most of the other pieces can still move freely around them. The only way I could think to do this was with resin. I first made modifications to some of the outer Skewb parts. This allowed me to partly assemble the Siamese Skewbs in a temporary form before the actual join was made. I then pushed plasticine into the areas where I didn't want resin to go and poured polyester resin into the space around both cores. When the resin was set I took the puzzle apart and removed the plasticine. I then filed off any rough edges or areas where the resin had gone but shouldn't have. It could then be re-assembled as the final puzzle.
I am very pleased with the quality and it moves pretty much the same as a regular Skewb. That might be expected on something like this but it very much depends on getting the join spot on and quality is by no means guaranteed. Naturally I used normal Skewb stickers. I made the puzzle in 1995.
I have made a total of seven Siamese puzzles. They are- Siamese Cubes, Siamese Skewbs, Siamese 5x5x5s, Triamese 5x5x5s, Siamese 2x2x2 Triplets, Siamese 6x6x6 V-Cubes (black and white) and White Micro Siamese Cubes.
