@mightisright The invention of Nuclear weapons destroys your theory. If you have nukes before your country ever goes down you destroy an entire continent, or maybe even the whole world. The Arabs can't do anything because they don't have that technology but Canada, USA, Russia, Japan, China, anywhere with nukes is off bounds.

@mightisright The USA cant be compared to an empire like England or Rome. The USA is 230 years old without an empire. The USA doesn't even have a unifying culture to export. In another 500 years the USA will be a blip compared to 1000 year empires that changed the world.

Inflation of the economy, anarchy, overpopulation, too many factors that could cause an all powerful nation to suddenly collapse.
The Hittites were succeeded by the Assyrians and Persians so my best guess is they just assimilated.
