2D Sidescroller in Visual Basic 6.0

About a week ago, I decided to see if I could make a basic scrolling tilebased game; turns out I can (although it's surprsingly hard)! It doesn't actually have a name yet, and if anything, it's inspired by Cave Story (go check it out), but after I added the spade it did look a lot like 2D Minecraft, so I added in the block placement feature.

All the level data is loaded from a text file so it's really easy to create new areas.

This is more a proof of concept than anything, but I'll probably continue to develop it into something awesome. Stay tuned for updates! The graphics and sounds are mostly placeholders and will probably be improved in the future.

This was made in Visual Basic 6.0.
