I wonder if its a breed thing. My cousin has a pyreness and he and their cat got along perfectly. They acted like the best of friends.

@imkohia Pyrs are famous for getting along with cats and kids and most otther animals. They only have a problem if a threat is perceived. They are called "Gentle Giants". Yup, it's a breed thing. Thanks

I love Pyrenees' I have one. A big old boy reaching the end of his days. he spends most of his time asleep in the floor now a days. he used to protect our 8 cats like sheep. what was hilarious was when he tried to heard them like sheep

my pyrenees loved all my cats, he even used to let them sleep on him, once he was even walking around with a cat asleep on his back, he was freakin awesome and i miss him so much :(

I have a great named Chloe she is huge 118 pounds the biggest I have ever seen. I have two cats she loves them. She is a great dog wonderful with everyone, but watch out of you are a threat or another dog coming into her area.

Great Pyrs and related dogs such as Maremma, Cuvac :) etc all are very very well with everything in their ' pack'. Kids, cats, and all other animals.

They were bred to protect live stock.

Dino here always wants to play with our cats. But they didn't grow up with him, so they don't like him? i think it makes him sad when they run away :(
