A BBC documentary from 1987 tracing the history of Britan's famous Hammer studio. Interestingly, the title implies that the BBC was not immune from the common confusion between Hammer and Amicus; The House That Dripped Bood was an Amicus production.

  • 6:20 is where most of The Rocky Horror Picture Show was filmed. Also starring Charles Grey.

  • "Jolly good climax" LOL!

  • What a gentleman Peter Cushing was.Great actor. Sadly missed.

  • @jheadSF06 And as for Van Helsing, Cushing could smack Edward Van Solan, Frank Findlay, Lawrence Olivier, Anthony Hopkins or Hugh Jackman down any day of the week.

  • @randomdave30 I completely agree with you.

  • @jheadSF06 What's the competition? Colin Clive and Kenneth Branagh? Pfffs! Peter Cushing could wipe the floor with either of 'em.

  • "Quite sexually attractive. Not to me"

    Nice Save.

  • While the 1931 version of Dracula, Coppola's version, and Van Helsing had interesting interpretations of the Professor Van Helsing character, when I first got into the Hammer Horror films, I saw Peter Cushings portrayal of Van Helsing in Brides of Dracula and I knew immediately that he was the definitive Van Helsing. He may even be the definitive Victor Frankenstein.

  • @bladrunner6

That is just not fair, the picture of Bela they showed was from Abbott & Costello meet Frankenstein, where he was much older. Why do people always compare Chris and Bela? They are too diffrent, but both brilliant.

  • Oh hammer horror. It brings back memories of big breasted young ladies and blood, thanks for posting this special.
