"Can you imagine a clean energy future? Greenpeace celebrated Earth Day 2009 by installing wind turbines — a symbol of clean energy — on the Michigan Ave. bridge in "the Windy City," Chicago, IL, hometown of President Obama. The wind turbine installation was meant to underscore the crucial role wind and other renewable energy sources must play in cutting global warming pollution, creating millions of jobs, and providing energy independence for all Americans.

We have the capacity to engineer a clean energy future in America. What we need now is the political and civic will to incorporate clean energy solutions into our communities in every way possible. This wind installation shows what the cities of the future might look like in a clean energy economy."

  • I saw the images of these turbines on Twitter. I said it there, and I will say it here.. These turbines in Chicago are simply beautiful... Not just visual, but knowing that these turbines will help the fight against global warming.. This is a step in the right direction, and let's hope we keep moving forward!

  • Ok lets build the fuckers. :)

I want my toaster to be powered by wind so I can eat wind toast. :)

  • @robertelee7 Wow, wat, wo did i say that too? i don't even remember posting that

  • fake turbines, brilliant, perhaps we can invade the outer banks of NC since there is an average wind speed of 14 mph !!! invading iraq for oil , whats the difference !!!

  • I don't care what needs to be done to become energy indepenent, but I think congress needs to do it NOW!

  • How is that racist? It is so bad nowadays if you say anything bad about a black person it is considered racist. There is proof that he went to school in India, and that he has lived in Kenya. I didn't even diss him. You are racist for thinking coming from Kenya or India is a bad thing.

  • People need to stop being so racist. Honestly,

  • It's a symbol smart one

  • can a turbine produce energy w/o spinning??

    i don't think so/..

  • Obama's hometown is somewhere in Kenya or India.

  • YESSSSSSSSSS
