Texting is great when you want to be frank with someone. When you need a quick question answered. When you want to be cute with your significant other. when you want to send a pic. Or when a holiday rolls by and you just want to greet all your friends the same greeting. etc. but the point is text messaging is supposed to be frank and straight to the point.

I'm not the only one who notices this or experiences these, but now a days people have full length conversations through texts when the amount of time texting could be spent talking on the phone. Granted there are some exceptions - you're working - okay great. But when you're at home and the other person is at home and you guys text each other...as if to say, "Yeah...I don't really wanna hear your voice, I rather just text you a conversation." Which pretty much is the reason why we all sometimes just text.

Theres the good and the bad, but to me theres a lot of bad in texting.

You can easily get into an argument by just texting "K" or "I guess..."
You misunderstand the other person.
You end up having a full length conversation with the person without ever hearing their voice (we're so comfortable now not to even hear the other persons voice)
You don't know how a person is saying something and someone can be easily offended.
You greet someone happy birthday -__-
You give your condolences to your friend
You use texting as the only means of asking someone to hang out
You wait for a response instead of just calling the person.
You get people texting you "Hey we haven't talked in awhile..."

I'm sure you get my point. Its like, we've really gotten so comfortable in not wanting to talk to one another. We all get irritated, but my point is, Iets try and not make TEXTING the only means of a conversation for 2012. I mean, just pick up the phone and call. The other person isn't gonna bite. People have peoples numbers for a reason. USE it, don't just hide behind your phone.

  • hahah i paused the video just to read that text convo thing hahha

  • My sister recently called me to say "hey I have been texting you for 3 days and you haven't returned my text"--so don't return a text and maybe you'll get a call--lol--MJ

  • : ) loved the ending.

  • "let's not hide behind a phone, lets get in front of it!" HAHAHAHA damn.. imagine all the notes you'll get from that on tumblr! LOL i've actually thought of this before. I remember in 2005 when i was coming out and unlimited texting was not that popular. I'd actually call people and have hour long convos with them. i really miss that. Lately, i don't even bother to communicate through the phone whatsoever.

  • I like your jacket!

  • Please make a video on "Boring texter" or "Small talk". Please & Thanks:)

  • I hate when people don't call and only text! I hate it even more when some people catch a major attitude when you call them! Really? UGH.

  • Break-up texts are so lame.

  • Totally AGREE!! Ugh I hate when a friend is trying to tell me something typing all this shit. I'm like "Can we just skype? damn" haha!!
