This is just a short example of my Slim PSP running the LocationFree Player, using an LF-B10 Basestation and an LG RH387-M DVR+DVD Recorder.

In the video, I show a little bit of TV playing, then I record a short segment onto the HDD of my LG Recorder via a custom remote I created on the LFA-PC30 PC software, then deleting it again from the player's menu.

If you don't know how to import your custom remotes into the psp, follow this link!(assuming you've already created a custom remote for the PC):

  • TheBbrevik: look at the last answer and subsequent comment I gave to Sonnyjim009. You MUST have a Locationfree Base Station device. It doesn't matter which version. The "SETUP" button is NOT directly on the PSP!

  • HELP PLEASE when i click loacation free player on the xmb it says hold setup mode button but i dunno what button that is???? PLZ REPLY

  • @Sonnyjim009

Its the button marked "SETUP" on your locationfree base station. You need to hold it down until it flashes. If you don't actually HAVE a locationfre base station, as I'm surmising you don't, then I can't really help you.

  • look up locationfree basestation in google, PERFEX. PSP2000MAN, did you follow all the steps to put the basestation in setup mode, and then detect it on the psp? there's a section on the basestation's control panel (software), where you can download some sort of update file to put on the stick that sometimes the psp needs. I'm not sure I needed that though, even for my 1000. You may try updating the firmware on the basestation as well, since the B10, though the one we both have, is quite old.

  • Yes, you wil need a router, because the basestation has no means of connecting to the internet on its own. The newer vaio models may incorporate router functionality, but I haven't look into those, and they are definitely more expensive.

  • Hard to find, but i found the same one i have in the back of a local Sony Style store. It's much cheaper to find and buy one online though. I suggest you try google product search. I bought mine for $100, and another (earlier model) for $80
