majority of people will place one or two hands at or near thier throats.
it should also be mentioned that airways can be obstructed by anaphylaxis and asthma and that this technique will do nothing to help. An ambulance show be summoned right away if the person idicates they are in distress.

Haven't they added back blows now to the new choking protocol?

Its hard to believe but I choked myself almost to death while being at First aid basics program, that is needed to get my drivers licence.

Quick comment... Before telling them your "going" to help... isnt basic practice to ask for their consent to touch them, thereby keeping yourself protected under the good Samaritan act. "Are you choking?" "My name is ____, I know first aid can i help you?"Some people do refuse help... and if you touch them without consent... you kinda open up a ton of legal issues.

This is really not 100% effective its showing you only how to do the maneuver on a half body show dummy. you must stand behind him a certain way so if goes unconscious then you can still support him/her.

They don't always grab they're neck. I didn't when I was choking. I freaked out.
