No, I didn't play any instrument--- it's all Mixcraft. I could have played those riffs, echoed them or whatever but it sounded nice by itself. All the sample sounds are contained within Mixcraft. You can use a midi keyboard with an interface like the MidiSport Uno 1x1. Thanks for the compliment.
