I'm reading "The making of a Stetson hat", a pre-WWII booklet of how felt, and thereafter, hats, are made. Extremely interesting. The methods have not, in fact, changed all that much since 1930, except for nitrate of mercury "carotting" which was made illegal around 1941. And, yes, Akubra makes very nice quality modern hats for a very decent price, a testimony to this ancient craft.
Vielen Dank Steve! Ich bin Akubra-Fan aus Fedora Lounge - 2 Fed III, Stylemaster, Sydney u. Squatter. Im Regen, im Schnee oder in der Sonne sind sie praktisch und hübsch.
