Whenever the need arises for me to speak in a (somewhat bad) australian accent, the first thing I say is, "Gday, I'm Tom from Australia"

Julia Gillard is absolutely not an appropriate icon for the Australian accent. And neither is "CRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIKEY!!!!!!! POOHT WAN AHN THA BAAAAAHBIE"

He doesn't sound more formal than most Australians, people have differences in there accents depending on what state they live in, who their family is and so on, I guess its also because he isn't a bogan, they all seem to sound really, well bogan

why would you knock before entering you're own room?

@Ignelux I'm Australian and to answer your question about the hiding in the closet, it's just what we do. We are taught that from a young age, even before we get our kangaroo riding lessons, or emu depends on your preference. It's like the choice between auto or manual for other countries.

What I want to know is, when someone knocks on your door, why is your first reaction to go hide? XD
The entire time, all I could think was "Hi, I'm Tom from Australia"
