  • Never heard Thames pronounced Tems, is that how it's pronounced locally or is it just a joke? lol

  • @gigicats6 thats the only way I've ever heard it said :)

  • Thanks Maddie for bringing back a lot of wonderful memories for me. You are brave for going in the pod. I am terrified of heights so I wouldn't have set foot in there but it was nice seeing it.

  • @2yearsnew BTW, thank you.

  • @Madrosed Why is my comment top? Bringing attention to my embarrassing question?

  • @Madrosed @2yearsnew "The River Thames (i/ˈtɛmz/ temz) flows through southern England." (from Wikipedia)... so I feel stupid. lol

  • @gigicats6 It is pronounced Tems all around the world. There is a river in Connecticut that is spelled the same and pronounced Thames like you said.

  • @Madrosed @lali92553 I've always only heard it pronounced as we in America would phonetically sound it out. lol In the last few years I've learned a lot of words that are used differently between our countries, such as a drug store is a chemist there, a carer is a nurses aide or caregiver, etc. I was corresponding with a woman who lived there and learned a lot, and found it amusing as well. Of course there's Ramsay with his "bullocks," which means "balls" here, & "John Thomas" is a penis. lol

  • Funniest thing you ever said, "I just don't like people". I'm with you on that one!

    Nice pictures, gorgeous!

  • Thanks again, Maddie.

  • @gigicats6 It is pronounced that way. The only way I've ever heard it pronounced.
